Wrought Iron provides the beauty of hand-craft and workmanship with great strength and durability. Samuel Yellin, the pre-eminent metalsmith of Philadelphia, called iron the “Salt and Pepper of Architecture” – essential, if not central to it. The photographs included here are of work done by some of the leading blacksmiths and artisans in the industry, including Les Metalliers Champenois of Patterson, NJ, Rose Ironworks of Cleveland, OH, Wiemann Ironworks of Tulsa, OK, and Ken Roby of Auburn, OH.
